Kenneth Brock, that is me. I spend my days blogging and I figured I would share some things while I am doing it... So basically that is all there is.

So did anyone see a team from Boston finally fall from grace? It may be the least favorite team of those spoiled New Englanders, but Boston College finally fell victim like upstart South Florida before them. It was even at the hands of a Florida team - Florida State. Elsewhere in the world of college sports, I went to see Ohio State take on a local garbage college. Ohio State barely squeaked out the victory in overtime, and I got into a fight in the parking lot.

Boston won a World Series. Yippie, I am just jumping for joy they were able to buy this championship, with uber-dork owner John Henry at the helm. That’s the thing, I lost a hundred dollars on a bet against the Red Sox, and of course they have to pull it out. Next year they will face stiff competition. Boston as a whole is elated, though. Boston College and the Patriots are both undefeated. It’s a lucky time to be a wimply little New Englander right now.

I have some airline miles that are set to expire. Before they go bad, I was planning a trip to Chicago. I had wanted to make it to Wrigley Field to see a Cubs game, but baseball season is now over, at least for them. I asked my daughter’s friend about Bears tickets so I might get in to their game. I would love to see Rex Grossman fumbling the snap down after down, as my beloved Tampa Bay Buccaneers did today.

You know, I haven’t always been a big sports fan. It may surprise some of the regular readers who hear me ranting about all kinds of different sports, but it’s the truth. I was never an athletic child, and besides working the offensive line in middle school, I was never much of an athlete. Minor league baseball is what got me into being a fan. I was able to be so loud at the game and no one cared, it was a little like heaven. I have been a sports fan ever since.

I went golfing with my sister the other day before the price hikes go into effect. You see, when the snowbirds come down, the golf game becomes three times as expensive. No one wants to go golfing in the summer because it’s so hot outside, but the price is right and no one will bother you talking about how great the Red Sox are. (They aren’t).
