welcome to my blog
Kenneth Brock, that is me. I spend my days blogging and I figured I would share some things while I am doing it... So basically that is all there is.

I went down to the bowling alley on Monday evening expecting to see a great deal of my family. My brother Mimo’s team was supposed to bowl my nephew Jamie and my mom and sister. I would have had plenty of advice for everyone. Last week, Jamie was going behind the table. I thought someone had spilled a drink near there, so in an effort to save his bowling shoes, I told Jamie not to go over there. It turns out there was no spilled drink, bt he doesn’t need to question me.

I was beginning to think my son couldn’t avoid drug rehab some day. Now, however, he is looking a little better. He came down here from Tennessee last week. I threatened to sell his golf clubs and he gave me some money. He has regained weight, and all seems fairly well in his life. It’s about time he woke up and kicked the drugs.

When I was a little kid growing up, we didn’t have video games. The closest thing we had to digital entertainment were the pinball machines and comic books. I’d spend many a Saturday afternoon at the arcade, putting nickels into my favorite pinball table. I would get so into the game, I would sometimes tilt the table and lose my turn! I had almost forgot about my glory days until I saw a great item for sale, the Marvel Heroes vs Villains Pinball Machine.

When I wasn’t wasting away my nickels on the pinball machine at the arcade, I was reading about my favorite Marvel heroes in comic books. If you were to ask me, I’d tell you this pinball set would make an outstanding gift to a kid these days. After all, some video games are a little mature in taste for young children. The heroes of Marvel comic books always do good, so I wouldn’t have a problem with my children being exposed to their heroic adventures. Plus, pinball is a fairly active game, which always beats sitting on the couch with a controller in your hand!

I am glad the world has not forgotten about pinball games and the Marvel crew. In fact, they have been brought together forever in this fun game. If my sons were young enough, I would certainly get them this game for the holiday season. Unlike a video game or other gift, pinball almost never gets old and no two games are ever the same.

I had a scare recently that I haven’t had much time or tolerance to talk about until now. I thought at the age of 46 I would become a grandfather. That’s right, my son was scared his girlfriend was pregnant. Luckily, she went to the doctor and was not. I can’t imagine being that old, because it seems as if yesterday I was hanging out with my Lakeway friends at the Civic Center watching the greatest musical acts of the golden seventies.
