If you remember, the other day I made an entry about how I took Jamie out on the weekend to improve his bowling game and driving. I don’t know how my driving lesson impacted him yet, but the results of his bowling tutoring were instant. Last night he rolled three games about forty pins over average, leading his team to wins in all but one game. I hope the kid improves. With my help, he will become a consistent 160 average bowler.

My nephew Jamie recently got his first car, a 1988 Dodge Omni. The only problem is he is never going to get his license because he is lazy. Plus, my mother yells at him for going driving with his girlfriend who is 20. The law says you have to be 21 to ride with someone with a permit. Yeah, she goes a little overboard with her concern, but it makes no difference. On Saturday, I will take him out to the back roads to teach him the mysteries of the three point turn so he can finally drive alone.

This Saturday I have to take my nephew Jamie to the bowling alley to teach him how to bowl. He is so messed up, we are going to have to tear his whole motion apart and start clean. I think I can get him to roll 160 games consistently. He can surprise every once in a while with an awesome game, but he needs consistency to be in a league. Hopefully he will listen and take my advice.

Bowling is always a good time, especially when it’s free. Normally, I bowl on Wednesday nights with the men, but my brother Mimo and his wife invited us all to go tonight. I had a decent night. The only other person there who wasn’t plastered was my nephew Jamie. He actually did pretty well and we all encouraged him to join a league. He was really quiet today, too. He is either obnoxious or silent. I love that kid.

I guess Jamie got his dream car the other day, an AMC Gremlin. Yeah, I always thought the Gremlin was a piece of garbage when I saw my friend with it in the seventies. I can’t even imagine why anyone would want one now. All things considered, it’s actually a good automobile. I told him about a guy who would cut him a good deal on repairs, he even has his own body shop supplies on hand to do all the jobs right.
