When I first moved into my apartment, the only thing I had with me was the couch I had been sleeping on at my mother’s house. After only a few weeks, after all the abuse it had sustained from me living on it, that couch finally gave way. With just a little money in my pocket without a scrap of credit, I had to fill my apartment with discount furniture. I eventually got enough pieces to sustain a good living space, and for very little money.

I was a little suspicious of GPS technology when I first heard about it. Now, it’s becoming a standard, especially in the automotive world. Having built in GPS in case of accidents or getting stranded is a hallmark even on cheaper model cars. If I had this technology available back in the day, I would have rigged my daughter’s car with gps tracking so I could make sure she didn’t end up with that loser she’s dating.

I have always joked with my kids that I am worth more to them dead than alive. Thinking about my term life insurance in this way is a little depressing, but it is financially true. While I’d like to think my children would miss my biting wit and personality, financially I have little to offer them except my life insurance policies. I just hope everything is set for them whenever I pass on, a lasting legacy of my memory. I don’t even care if they spend money on my funeral, my money is for them to enjoy. After all, you can’t take it with you.

I have lived in many homes and apartments, and one of those things I always keep my eye on is the water heaters. Those thing are prone to failure all the time, leaving you cowering in the shower as cold water sends chills down your spine. I know, I’ve been there. It’s far from pleasant. Good thing nowadays technology has allowed us to do away with traditional tanks in favor of tankless water heaters. Now installation and performance is much better, meaning years of happy warm showers.

Anyway, I think I told you guys about my impending gym membership. My doctor is alarmed at how out of shape I am. I guess bowling and pool leagues just aren’t cutting it when it comes to fitness. I am at a better weight now than I was as a kid, but all those years of being overweight are taking a toll. I was thinking about paying for a gym membership, but I will need a machine at home when I can’t make it out. This is why I am looking into elliptical machines.
