It’s been a while since I represented my favorite band, Styx. I figured this song would be a perfect testament to my blog, as it all is a result of having too much time on my hands. Revolutionary in its day, be prepared to see a totally early 80s production with this video:

Though I got to see many great acts during my youth, I think my favorite concert was at the college stadium in Tampa where I saw the Eagles. They set up the stage and speakers at the fifty yard line and people were all around the stage. You could tell these were the good old days, as people walked around selling bricks of hash. The cops knew they couldn’t mess with all these crazy Eagles fans on hasish, so they stuck to the perimeter.

Though I have always contended that the 70s are the best era of music, but I did like a few things up until the 80s. My brother Mimo stopped liking all new music starting precisely at Guns n Roses. This is a gem I saw on MTV 2 the other day, Lifeline by Spandau Ballet.

I know, I have always said the music of the seventies will forever reign supreme and I stand by that statement. However, I am willing to adapt sometimes and listen to the youthful music of today. One example is this band Bright Eyes. Just take a look at their new video for the song Hot Knives.

Here is a clip of a great band in their prime - a time when music was great. You could understand all the words and there was no rules at the concerts. I regret never having seen Foghat in concert because my friend Dennis got arrested the nigth we were supposed to go. Here’s their big hit, Slow Ride.
