I am so glad I’m getting ready to go up to West Virginia in a couple of days. It will be a relaxing change of pace from sitting around here all the time. I was so angry when I learned my plane tickets would no longer be valid after having spent a bunch of time in the hospital - oh well. I guess ‘ll just default on the loan Jamie gave me like I do with everything else. Maybe one day, when I’m a doctor, I will take him on a series of cruises to make up for it.

My nephew Jamie likes to trick my mom by placing placebos in her medicine. He noticed she was saying her pain medicine gave her hallucinations, seeing everything from stars and stripes to ellipticals. Convinced she was making it up or over exaggerating, he replaced one night’s medicine with some regular acetaminophen and would ask about her reaction. She said the same thing - she started seeing things even though what she had taken was essentially a placebo!

The last wedding I went to was my brother’s. He got married last spring at a golf course. It was like a big family reunion, with people coming in from all states to witness the spectacle. There was also a few people there I didn’t care for, like that annoying girl from the bowling alley and a few others from around town I’ve had disagreements with. I didn’t take an active role in the wedding because I didn’t want to end up having to get a groomsmen gift. I don’t have enough money for that kind of thing.

I was helping my daughter move her stuff into storage the other day. First of all, I phoned my nephew Jamie and got him out of bed. Then, we went out to The Cape to help out. I had to get some shoes out of storage and put a TV and computer in. While I was in there, I started looking through the boxes for things I could sell on eBay. While browsing the various items, I found some of my ex-wife’s maternity clothes. Really no pleasant memories there, though I love my kids.
